If it wasn't for two tap ins against Villa then people wouldn't care if he wasn't offered a new deal.

He hasn't ever shown much else when I have seen him apart from a poor first touch. Sure he'll get another year anyway.

I don't think he's as good as people make out, but he's probably worth another year.

His comments on Miles aren't the only reason he's an idiot! I think Miles has plenty of potential too, would be well pleased to have him back in the fold for the play offs.

Storey was exceptional v Villa.....and i watched him at Tranmere tear them to shreds untill he was injured.
Energetic and likes to get involved.....hope his injuries dont hold him back.

I'd like to point out that I am not normally a grammar Nazi but if someone says "your an idiot" (or variations thereof) I feel it's fair game.

Back on topic, I agree that Storey is worth a shot and should be offered another year.  I also agree that calling the manager "the corpse" for not having been able to sort out the extension when it was an option is unfair because (a) his hands were probably tied and (b) he has probably never seen the kid play or train.

Nope he's still exactly the same player he was before he got injured to me. I watched him at Tranny and agree with Lee, he was just threatening to do some very good things.

I said at the start of the season i would have been happy with him as our 4th choice striker (maybe not on here but to any other bloke who had the misfortune to listen) and I stand by that. If he's fit enough i think he's a good option for the play offs (must be better than having youth teamers on the bench) and should be offered a new contract on the basis of his potential.

I do think not contracting him would be a grave mistake. No offence to our youth teamers, but we rarely chuck up someone quality. Louis and Nathan Thompson (and to a lesser extent Billy Bodin and Callum Kennedy) are great examples of what taking a punt on giving them a contract can be worth to the club. They won't be high earners, they have roots here, and Miles may just pull something out of the bag we need at a dire moment. It would add some freshness and energy to our squad, which just feels like it's growing more stale by every match.

It's easy to overestimate his impact with him having those two Villa goals, but the second one (his cross-footed flick that confused Shay Given so much he went the wrong way) showed a real awareness, accuracy, and deftness of touch in front of goal that we have lacked all bloody season. If, for whatever reason Kmac has to build a team up around youth next season, then Miles and the Thompson twins are as good a place to start as any.

(I know they're not twins, sssh)

What has happened to Callum Kennedy? Has he been getting a regular game?

I thought that he was quite good in the games I saw last year.

I've talked about my love for Kennedy elsehwere, so I shan't repeat it, but I think he's been pretty regular for Scunthorpe this season- his wiki isn't up to date though, so I could well be wrong. I know they're going down, but one left back can't save a team...

I'd rather of had him than Jmac this season, I'd say that for certain.
