Gas BBQ's are like the vegetarian versions of meat items. Trying to match the original but failing. Quorn burgers, veggie bacon etc. Just not anywhere near as good.

If you have a BBQ in a forest or some such place....then the charcoal should be supplemented by cones and so on that can be found around. Having a camping stove, to keep things warm part cook sausages etc, make a brew, is acceptable. If you're in the garden though...might just as well use the kitchen.

Charcoal. The whole point of BBQ-ing is the process of building and setting a fire and using it to cook slabs of meat...

Hmmm, you guys have a point on the Charcoal BBQ. Think I will just go and get one and see what I fancy at the time. Asda have some cool looking American style charcoal ones.

If that's the budget then maybe charcoal is the way forward. Tried "cheaper" gas ones before but without being impressed. Maybe we just got unlucky. £100 in charcoal BBQ is not insignificant!

Gas BBQ's are for pussies. Might aswell use the grill of a cooker. Get a real one.
This. Anyone who considers using gas, may as well come out of the closet at the same time.

Exactly. if you need to ask the question, you might as well sign up to Stonewall. Why the fuck would anyone want an outdoor cooker.
