Not sure about best free kick taker, but most enjoyable free kick for me was beckham v greece. Apart from the actual kick, the fact he managed to contrive the whole thing by keeping possession in a dangerous area until such time as he was fouled - quite deliberately - make it genius.

Beckham's was probably the most important free kick, the silence/expectation before he strikes it is amazing.

Sheringham won the free-kick, although Beckham had been playing in just about every position on the pitch for the 20 minutes that preceded it. He was everywhere, probably one of the best individual performances I've ever seen.
