Don't our players of the year normally leave us?

Yes....but usually they've played well as they're going to be out of contract at season's end. Oh

Who was the last home grown player to win this? It must have been a while...

Mildenhall as a Youth to Senior.

Evans as a Swindon born.

Evans came through at Chelsea, Mildenhall is probably the one I'm looking for. Thompson joined us at 16 from Palace, right? May be wildly wrong, just a dim memory.

Evans was at Swindon as a kid wasn't he? Fatbury mentored him.

I think both Thompson brothers were youth players long before signing pro terms, not sure if they're both from Swindon? It's weird that Louis would get a call up for Wales but Nathan hasn't?

Wiki suggests the Thompsons have been here longer than I first thought- Nathan born in Chester, Louis in Bristol. Only reason I can imagine Nathan hasn't played for Wales yet is that he's 22 and only really coming to prominence now, so not considered good enough for the Wales age group teams when he was eligible.

Do we actually know the number of votes cast for each player?
