Good read that. I'll probably get pelters for saying so but I think Sam's writing is a cut above your typical local rag journo.

A very interesting read and I think Sam has got as close to the DiCanio enigma as it is possible to get. An unusually perceptive article, the more so that it is from a local journo - puts some of the more fanciful articles in the 'National Press' in the shade.

That's an excellent article and one that a lot of national journos would do well to read.

The adver content (Sam's in particular) has improved considerably since the McCormick garbage imo.

Ultimately, no one could dare imitate the theatre and drama that came with the Di Canio administration. It was a journalist’s wet dream,
oooh, risqué. Think I'll stick(y sheets) to Rachel Riley and Holly Willoughby myself. Journalists are weird Good article though, liked the bit about scouring facebook and twitter too!

Although, IF our form picks up and we make the play-offs then all will be forgiven.

Superbly written Sam.
Having read Gabriel Marcotti's article in The Times during the week, I understand also that the journalist's fascist supporting Great Uncle was killed by Communists, and another relation, returning from the frontline during the War, was stripped of his clothes (again by those on the far left) and left to perish in freezing conditions. Miraculously he survived. Those espousing Communist beliefs during those times in Italy were as capable of savage behaviour, if not more so, than those on the right of the political spectrum.
The Durham Miners' Association (whose leader has been very vocally opposed to Paolo's appointment) have various banners that, for instance, have Hammer and Sickle representations emblazoned across them, also images celebrating the virtues of Lenin and Marx. Talk about hypocrisy! The same ex-union leader also took an AUTOCRATIC decison when he demanded that the banner adorning the Stadium of Light should be returned. This bothered a great many of those he claims to speak on behalf of. Anyway, enough politics, let the football do the talking.
