Is it overly harsh to say that Roberts is a candidate for the Cureton/Thorpe school of disappointing high profile signings?

It's not fucking rocket science, but when they have a centre half that's winning every fucking header just hoofing the ball forward isn't going to work.
You can see it coming that Oldham will get one chance & score it

Roberts tries at least.

Very harsh. I don't see him play week in week out, but when I have seen him he's done pretty well.

Half time. We're on top, but haven't scored, and their centre backs are dominating in the air.
De ja vu all over again.
The Spurs lads sound good though.

So we've dominated possession and missed a sitter.
Déja vu.

Yup. Hopefully that brief flurry towards half time was their chance. That said, it might be that they batter us all second half. Or we might score two or three. Let's hope for the latter.

at orient he put in an ashikodi style cameo. if we could shift him in the summer i'd do it but I would be very happy for Roberts to score a couple

This. The crowd can all see it's not working, so why can't the players and the manager. I wouldn't even say we've dominated possession, it's been another shite 45 minutes in front of the home ground and yet again we don't look like scoring

Cureton and Thorpe showed no interest in ever playing for us, Roberts might be crap but I've never seen anyone fault his effort.
I watched a reserve game in 2005 and Thorpe was on the pitch. Literally, he was just on the pitch. I don't think he broke out of a stroll or touched the ball.
