Embargo still on...Johnson deal off

THE Swindon Town board remain confident of getting the club’s transfer embargo lifted today, but even if it is, QPR striker Andy Johnson will not be moving to the County Ground.

Ok, hands up who even for a second believed we were going to sign Andy Johnson. Anyone? Really?

From the comments section:

Have we not been here on this story for weeks. May as well be Messi as with the embargo it has no bearing. As the James Bond film tomorrow never comes.

Sounds like a reasonable comment to me. Actually more reasonable than some of the utter shit spouted on this forum recently.

Let's be honest - we are not going to fail to get promoted just because we don't sign some youngsters on loan.

Keep our current squad fit til the end of the season and we'll be up.

Embargo or no embargo, it's pretty clear we didn't sign AJ because he's still fucking knackered.

True, but I think you missed my (admittedly utterly shit) point.

Interestingly, BBC Wilts who apparently "broke" the AJ story after the Adver was asked not to, didn't even give it a mention this morning apart from saying Jed is 9.5/10 sure the embargo will be lifted before 5 pm tomorrow!!

Tomorrow eh?? 9.5 you say??

Whatever Jed, we've got this far with the players we've got, I don't think it really matters that much any more.

Do we actually know this is the case with the BBC breaking and the Advertiser not...

Or is it just that once again the Advertiser were scooped and reverted back to what has been their stock response in such cases 'obviously we knew we just chose not to print it' and see the chance to knock the beeb?

What possible reason would local journos have to compete with one another over news that a tiny fragment of the population will be interested in?

They knew about the 'break in' by Paolo, they knew about Greg Hall being appointed and I reckon they've known all along about Jason Roberts.

They should appoint Dostoyevsky to do their statements in cases like this then.

The Adver knew, The Adver fucking knew...
