Chairman Jed McCrory is continuing to work to resolve the issue and remainss hopeful of being able to strengthen MacDonald’s depleted squad with up to four new players for the promotion run-in, but refused to blame the Football League for the situation the club finds itself in.

“We are going to carry on doing what we are doing, which is protecting the club and trying to get the club promoted,” he said.

“I will be contacting the Football League first thing on Monday morning to try and resolve the matter, but I’m not blaming the Football League here because they have done things the right way to try and protect their members.

“However I do find it hard that other clubs are not in embargo when we don’t have any debt and have paid all our bills and other teams haven’t.

“It was an inherited problem and is very frustrating, but we are going to continue to work to resolve it at the same time as protecting the football club.”
So does this mean that the 1957 debt has been cleared up?
