I used to think that Bob Holt's friday statements were bad enough, but this one takes things
to an entirely different level.

More likely we didn't pay for the petrol coupons, following the petrol rationing (Suez Crisis).

How the fuck did debts come out of the woodwork since 1957?

Surely this statement should've come out last Friday...on Red Nose Day !!

If there are debts dating back to 1957 holding things up, why haven't they held up any previous takeovers, or caused embargos before now? Just doesn't add up.

The hold up makes sense to me now. 1957 debt, obviously the board, quite rightfully are trying to find enough pre decimal coins to pay it back in kind.

And of course there's the fact that our various insolvency processes will have eliminated any debt that existed before them (possibly with the exception of a secured debt)
