My advice to you is don't. Swindon Town centre died along time ago and is highly unlikely to be resurrected any time soon.

He's talking about the Outlet centre, not town centre.
It's not too bad, there are quite a few men's clothes shops.
Although I personally hate shopping so hardly ever go there.

He's talking about the outlet village, not the hole of a town centre.
I was listening to BBC Radio Wiltshire this morning and they were asking listeners to phone in with slogans for Wiltshire tourism. Someone suggested;  'Swindon. It'll be nice when it's finished'. Very apt..

I totally disagree, Swindon town centre has everything you could need from the House of Frazer to Poundland, an excellent town centre that covers all the needs of the locals, and I enjoy going in every weekend.

Yea the Outlet place.

I too fucking hate shopping but a couple of online clothes buying cockups means i'll bite the bullet this time.  Only leaving an hour earlier saturday and it not really costing me any extra petrol on top of 40 mile journey to Swindon means i can justify enduring a shopping experience to myself.

Outlet has got better for blokes in recent months/years.  French Connection, Ted Baker, Tommy Hillfigger, etc.

They are expanding it soon as well, or they have permission granted.

In all honesty, they should scrap the Town Centre as a failure and build on the excellent Outlet Village as it's replacement.  Sprinkle some High St stores around it, add some more dining options, maybe a small cinema relocate the Theatre and it would make a cracking and aesthitically pleasing Town Centre.  Bulldoze the current one instead of redvelopment, or trash the current one and replace with a mall style one instead.

I go in town every other week or so now after not using the place for years. It's so quiet compared to years ago and it's no hassle even on a Saturday. Went into Soccer sports Saturday and got approached by a shop assistant asking if i wanted help with trainers. Used to be a nightmare getting someone to go and fetch the right size.
I like that cheap cd-dvd shop too.
It's win win as the mrs gets to spend some money and i get to go to the pub after.
