One big difference between Fergie and PDC is respect.
Fergie has earned the respect of his players and he respects them in turn. PDC thinks respect is a one way street and simply means treating him like a god.
Sure Fergie has bust ups with players but I don't remember many that were in public and resulted in the player never playing again. PDC did this more in 18 months that Fergie has in the last 18 years.
PDC will never even be a tenth of the manager Fergie is.
You can take his cock out of your arse now. No one said he was as good a manager as ferguson. There are parallels regarding a belief in discipline though.

With all the "Paolo had iron discipline and the players as fit as they've ever been" rhetoric, you'd think that the side would have better record in the closing stages of games.
Looking and thinking back, my guess is this season we've probably conceded as many goals in the closing stages as we've scored, and it's telling that Saturday was the first game we've managed to win from a losing position.

I expect we never needed to score that many in the closing stages because the game was already won...

Oddly I think a sizeable chunk of our 80th to 90th minute goals are in those games where we were properly tonking sides, like the Pompey and Carlisle games. What we haven't been doing until now is making that alleged superior fitness pay in the closing stages of tight games like Orient and Crawley away, and Bournemouth and Preston at home.

Alright Lumps we get it, you don't like PDC much. Will you be happy and move along once we all admit that he did NOTHING right for this football club?

Maybe you (and others) can move on and stop bringing this up every fucking time the bloke makes a post? No, he didn't like PDC. No, he wasn't the only one. Yes, he is entitled to his opinion. Yes, so are you. Now can we move along and admit that people feel differently about PDC and that nobody on this forum is trying to change the mass consensus to a negative or positive one? He is history.

Exactly what i was trying to get at, I obviously didn't convey myself well though. Just thought a lot of threads seemed to be going down the route of slating PDC. Just my interpretation though.

You got mafia connections SY? Oh, and Lumps your argument about PdC and late goals etc...needs a bit more analysis for it to stand up.

The Washbag's statistics article suggested we have been doing well as a team towards the end of both halves (or should that be half's). I assume that there will be variations in squad fitness amongst the teams we play, so it isn't always a given that we will roll teams over as games progress.

Every discussion on here about PDC recently has been the same. Indifference interpreted as lack of acknowledgment for his achievement, criticism construed as a slant against his character, praise dismissed as rose tinted spectacles. it's been done to death, it's dull, let's just move on (sorry paul)

Hopefully people can get a bit real and the mass consensus will change to a negative one.

We've scored 11 and conceeded 2 in the last 15 mins of games this season. You can chalk 2 of those scored off for the last game. Our worst part of the game is the first 15 mins. Us and Sheff Utd are the only two teams to score more than we concede when you look at all 6 x 15 min intervals in a game. We also have the 4th best points haul when losing at half time.

Japp Stamm and Beckham were incredibly public
