...Jimmy Davis. Would have been 31 today, this year is 10 years since he died.

How the time passes

RIP Jimmy

May I echo the sentiments from 'Matchworn Shirts'. The morning of the Sheffield Wednesday game in August 2003 was horrible. But the tribute from Jimmy's mum before the Notts County game later that month was truly moving.

Jimmy Davis was a cracking little midfielder - you could tell he was schooled at Manchester United, had that certain class about him. The other lovely thing about Davis was that he played football with a smile on his face, similar to the joy exhibited by a certain Simon Ferry in our current squad.

RIP Jimmy.

Jimmy Davis - Where has the time gone.

So bizarre that first game of the season I was struggling to get to the ground as the M40 southbound was closed. What I didn't realise at the time it was due to Jimmy's tragic death. I managed to take a diversion and got to the game on time.

The previous season whilst on loan Jimmy Davis presented me and my Wife a cheque for £2K for winning a a National Competition. I still have a copy of the video which I still treasure to this day playing football with Jimmy on the CG pitch as we were invited to come along to a training session.

I went back a year later to the scene of the crash and placed a Swindon Top and flowers as a mark of respect.

Yes indeed, where did the time go.

RIP - Jimmy Davis.

Yes, amazing how quickly that time seems to have passed.

My first thought after reading the initial post was Luke Mccormick. Similar circumstances, different outcome (fortunately), and different legacy.

Blimey. 10yrs. I can so vividly remember his mum before the Notts County game, that was magnificent - that's probably the wrong word, or the wrong context at least - but people who were there will know what I mean.

I still wonder if that was a catalyst for that season. What a rollercoaster 03/04 was.

I nearly cried that day when Jimmy's mum spoke. Closest I've come to crying at a football match.  Both that day and the day of his death seem like yesterday.

Was this really 10 years ago? I was at that Sheffield Wednesday game, and it seems like only a few years ago!

RIP Jimmy - Difficult to imagine where his career would have taken him - probably would have been a Premier League stalwart by now!! Always remember the Notts County game, the moving speech by his mother & in particular the Town End's rendition of 'win this for Jimmy, we're gonna win this for Jimmy' which we most certainly did!!

Got a feeling either Mildy or Evans was in goal that day for County.

it was Mildenhall who has a terrible record against us, poor bloke.

when you look back at some of the dross we had in our team that day, it makes you all nostalgic.
