Perfection is not attainable

I have been reliably informed by my "know it all son" that after today's result  we are mathematically safe from relegation !!!
 Too Cool
All the teams at the bottom can get at least 70 points minimum so thats actually wrong, and if we went into administration then take off another 10 points or possibly more.....we are far from safe from relegation.

Does that take into account the fact that they have to play other.  In other words that they can't all win all their matches?

52 is normally safe at this level and we're 3 points off that. Even with a 10 point deduction we'd still only be 4 points off the play-offs.

hartlepool have 13 points with 20 to play.  if they win all their games they will have another 60 which would be more than 70.  if were talking purely on a mathematically basis then he's right.

The point re: points deduction is fair enough. The point re:70pts is so wrong, in terms of probability.

A team will never get relegated on 69 points (using current points structure).

No no, my point was addressed to Pete Venkemen, the poster formerly known as JJ Edmunds. I was basically agreeing with you jan.

So Hartlepool are a. going to win all their matches. And B will not play any of their relegation rivals, meaning 4 relegated teams can (or will) get into the 60's points region?

Ok.

I appreciate anything is possible, but there's no point in planning for something that will never happen.

I think it's fair to say that there is very good chance that we're not going to get relegated.

I suspect JJ's post wasn't worded as he intended it to be.
