Loving Paolo's comments on Tranmere. Along the lines of "We beat them 5-0 but they haven't seen anything yet. It was too easy. I want to win on their ground, like the Romans"

PDC comments: - Strange week in general - Pleased players gave their best - Very good professionals trained hard all week - Crucial to focus attention day before game. Hampered by bad weather. - First half was very bad. We were better but weren't properly focussed - Thanked all volunteers for helping get game on. Named some personally. - Ordered pizza for 60 people but then the population went up to the size of a small village - Win is a nice thank you message for the fans - The turning point was that at half time PDC threatened them with a 5am start running tomorrow morning. - Sounded as if PDC wasn't happy that nothing was done at the ground until 4.15 yesterday but then there was a big effort afterwards that pleased him and made the ground a very good surface to play on today - The penalty was far away from him, but PDC thought it was a fair call. - Its difficult to react when 6-7 players aren't focussed at the beginning of the game. However, he was pleased that we capitalised on the penalty and scored again afterwards - Fodderingham penalty save: Credit to Wes for a fantastic save. Crucial as with 7 mins to go we could have been under great pressure if we had conceded from a silly penalty. - Hollands: Didn't want to detract from positive energy. He will have an xray as it could be a fracture. - Devera had a hamstring problem? PDC was hesitant and talked about Flint training harder this week. Wanted to make sure that players have fresh legs. PDC talked about technicalities of training regime and said that Devera (and a couple of others) didnt have injury but didn't perform to optimum levels suggesting that they were close to causing damage so needed rest - Its not like last season. We have quality. We work well together. But the closer you get to Championship or Premiership the higher the level of sustained performance you have to put in. We are going to try. - Looking forward to next week. Has already hear comments from the manager. Cant wait for the game and for the players to perform. - PDC positive about off field. Is even more positive than he was on Thursday afternoon.

He was positive on Thursday, but is even more positive now and there is lots of positive energy around...apparently.

Flint: - Nice to be back on the pitch - The back 4 had been doing well and keeping clean sheets without him - Concentrated on working hard - Had players round him that had been playing well together so easy to slot back in - Always confident of winning, just a matter of when the first goal would go in - Second goal killed the game. Thought we would score a 3rd - Good save from Wes. - Good to keep a clean sheet but defending starts from the front - Bid for Flint to leave. Wants to stay. He's a Swindon player and loves it here. - Massive game vs Tranmere next week
(Flint must have been practicing his interview skills!)

Sticking #salop into the search bar on Twitter has proven quite amusing. They're a lot less happy with Turner than they were 24 hours ago!

Seconded, ran from the car into the house and the batteries died on my portable radio! Wish someone would film them so we could have an end of season compendium !
The length of his interviews, it would be one hell of an expensive boxset

Chris Martin: - First goal - Nice to get off mark - Poor first half. Came out of the traps quickly in 2nd - Settled nerves with penalty and we kicked on - Great save meant there wasnt a nervous last 5 mins - Wanted to take penalty. Totally calm. Was initially going to go the way the keeper dived, but he went early, so Martin adjusted - Regretted jumping into the snow afterwards! - Paid tribute to the other strikers who are on form. - So many chances being created that we should be scoring - Tranmere next week starting difficult 4 games away. Tranmere massive for both teams. Look to enjoy the game. - We are a very good outfit and set up well away from home - Confirmed that PDC did threaten them with a 5am training session in the snow tomorrow. Martin said we showed him what we thought of that!

Slightly better second half than first. Key was them taking grandison off, his replacement couldn't cope with out attacking movement.
Not a vintage win, but a comfrotable one. Roberts had a decent game too.

McEverley: - Didn't expect to play this week - Knee feels good. Needs match sharpness - Need to get back to pre injury levels through hard work in training - Frustrating to recuperate. Has been able to do lots of running but it takes time to get back to the required levels - Tough competition for places. We have strength in depth. Who knows what will happen. - Alot of games coming up. The way we play is very demanding. Manager will have to make sure we have fresh legs.

PDC sounded quite positive about the 'off field' shenanigans....... I wonder what's going on? It can be traumatic but it's never boring following Swindon!
