My phone is telling me there is a 40% chance of snow at 5am and a 50% chance of snow at 6am.
Does that mean there is a 45% chance of snow before 7am, or a 90% chance?

Well I've had an interesting 26 hours !
Started an hour south of Munich airport - managed to drive there passing 3 over turned cars on the side of the motorway - no snow clearance or gritting happening there !
Got to airport, boarded plane to sit there for 3 hours, then be told the airport was closing and we were going nowhere. Not one hotel room available within a 60km radius so tried to sleep,on the airport floor
Plane was supposed to take off at 11.30 this morning - finally left at 1.30 - flew to gatwick and circled the airport for an hour while the de-iced the runway !
Finally touched down at 3 this afternoon - have to say the drive back to Swindon was a dream - hardly anything on the motorway and made it back by 5 - then took me 30 minutes to get from the motorway to Old Town !
Needless to say I'm knackered, but going on the lash in an hour so that should help :-)
My wife works at Munich airport, she says that 11000 people were stuck there that day. Her job is to try and rebook passengers or find them hotels. She's got the patience of a saint, I'd last 5 minutes in that job before I tore someone's head off. |
