  SWINDON Town fans must keep one eye on the future as they enjoy the present-day success provided by Paolo Di Canio and his players, according to Trust STFC chairman John Ward.

John is absolutely right about the need to maintain interest in the Trust.  It's just hard to do so when the club is not considered by most to be in crisis.  Membership shot up to around the 1,000 mark in 2007, when Diamandis was 'in charge'.  I doubt it's anyway near that now.

It has gone very quiet again which is worrying, there was talk of a board meeting after the Carlisle game where more would come to light with regard to the finances and future business plan for the club. Does anyone know when this meeting is taking place as the silence coming from Patey is deafening at the moment, I am just a little worried at the current financial picture at the club it would be good to know what plans they have for sustainability going forward.

Think there was a board meeting, but Patey did say in an interview that they would be keeping the details of the club's finances and any investment behind closed doors unless there was meaninful news to report.

You are correct Ardiles. Now the club is now considered to be 'not in crisis', the membership has dwindled to less than 100. We've been looking in getting a share holding,as John mentioned, and of course the RAF continues, but there is only so much a board of five people can do.

There is an underlying niggle, for me anyway, that we are living beyond our means, or rather, beyond the will of the owner. I've no problem with keeping commercial information in-house (it is a business after all), but if Andrew Black is still committed and up for taking us to the next level, I'd like to hear it from him. A tweet will do! We know very little about him, and very little about hia motivation for being involved, which could provide some reassurance that he's not going to get bored and walk away.

The accounts are due out end of next month.

Whilst everything has been fantastic since Fitton's consortium took the club over, it is a worry that he's left, as has Jeremy Wray. Early on, our club was supposed to be a model of sustainability but there's no way it'll happen at our current level, without a redeveloped stadium complex.

Attendances are fairly decent. A few years of relative success should keep them stable and possibly rising.

Yes it is , I had heard a week ago that there was going to be an emergency board meeting that could result in the unthinkable I just hoped that the person who told me had mis heard what he as told but his mornings news looks to have brought it out in the open
