I believe we will probably finish mid-table again.Up front the strike force should score goals but its the defence that is probably going to fuck us up.It just seems to be prone to mistakes that always cost us.
But if we get a bit of luck and injuries are kept down you never know, in league one it is hard to predict who is going to do well,we may surprise ourselves and other people.

I think that Kingy is starting to learn now that it does not hurt to play youngsters like Lapham and Pook, in fact I think it does more good than harm. In my opinion Caton has fantastic potential and he should be offered a proffessional deal straight away, along with other bright prospects such as Wells.  From his pre-season form it certainly seems like Fallon is growing as a player and I think that he should be aiming for 10-15 goals this season as a minimum.  In the event that Ifil keeps making blunders I feel that he should be dropped because he cost us lots of goals last season.  I predict a stable season with us being in the top half of the table for the most part.  It is a shame that Smith left before we sold Parkin, because if we sold Parkin first then I think the board would have had the money in their budget to offer him a two or three year deal on increased terms.
I would be lying if I said that I don't think City will do well this season, but we have to just knuckle down and defend as a team and hopefully come away with 6 points from the two City games.  Goals really shouldn't prove to be a problem, but our defence surely needs some work (Come on Reevesy get them playing as a unit!).  I also find it odd that Charlie Comyn-Platt has somehow been left out of the picture in our backline, he seems to be very tall and height is something that is always needed at the back.

Pretty much agree with that. If nothing else it could be an entertaining season, we look like we are capable of both scoring and conceding a lot of goals.

I think a lot will depend on our start to the season. If we can start well (top 6 after 10 games) then some of the stayaways/fairweather fans might come back, meaning that the board might free up wages in January for a couple more players allowing us to kick on for the play offs in the 2nd half of the season.

If we dont start well, I can see another season of mid table dullness on the cards. I dont see how theres any realistic chance of flirting with relegation, barring our first XI being injured for the whole season. We've too much quality in the side.

i'm well up for this season, i was too hung up on brighton for the first half of last season, i think we all were; that was the problem

INteresting to see so many people talking about good and bad starts.

In the play-off year we were about 15th at Christmas, then went on a 12 game or so unbeaten run and went up to 4th.

I don't think the start is all that important.

Fucking hell, what a run that was - it was like a daydream sometimes. Luton and Wycombe away are clear as a picture in my mind still, the mad 3-3 game against Port Vale, Rory's goal against City and even losing 4-2 to Peterborough was a strange highlight.

I'd give my bollocks for another season like that

I remember the play off first leg, sitting in the family enclosure.
What a great atmosphere though.  The red of Swindon contrasted with the blue of Brighton so well....And then I watched the second leg on Sky at my tennis club ()very posh place).  Anyway we were trailing 1-0 and all these old fogies came out of the hall to have a break from their game of Bridge when Sam Parkin scored the equalizer.  My Dad and I leapt to our feet with roars of elation We got some very funny looks from those oldies.

Obviously much depends upon injurys with such a paper thin squad.I find it hard to comment on a lot of the new players as I dont know enough about them.I do know that Kingy  has a good eye for a player and that good enough for me.

My gut instinct makes me think that Cureton will do well,I expect a great season from Fallon and O'Hanlan.I suspect thorpe will be a let down (hope im wrong though)
I see us finishing 14th.

Like everyone else I think it could go either way.

If we can stay free of injuries and the players perform then top half and possible play-offs.

The small squad and how we start will count a lot this season, can't see us finishing near the bottom though. However many we let in I'm confident we'll score enough to win games.
