Bit of a cheeky link to humanism/renaissance too. Quite happy with it considering I knew nothing about it 11 hours ago.

Whilst the Bohemian kingdoms in Hungary were influenced in this way, further east there was a stronger history of Protestantism, probably influenced by the early Czech reformer, John Huss, who had been martyred in 1415, whose death provoked violent response in the region (including Bohemia) against the power and wealth of the Church.  So protestantism had a longer and more radical history and was more deeply rooted in Hungary....

Don't know it that ties up with your own reading....

The story of John Huss is a pretty interesting one - supposedly, he prophecied about the impact of Luther just before his execution, a good 100 years before the reformation kicked off.

I find myself in the awkward position of doing an essay for someone who is an expert on the topic in question. One of the suggested reading links is an essay by him, do I dare to quote his own work in my essay?

He's a very clever guy, he's put it on the suggested reading links to trip people up. I'm sure of it.

I'd use it,

He'll probably get off on the fact someone has read his work and quoted it.
