First off I have decided that Jenkins looks to be one of the scruffiest looking players I have seen since, well Steve Robinson.

According to the Adver he may well start in the middle on Saturday alongside Whalley after playing an hour in that position in the closed door friendly Vs Millwall.

Not a bad call in the short term.  As well as Pook has played he still needs to be introduced gradually and tested rather than be thrown in at the deep end.  The other option I thought of was perhaps Roberts, after all he's put on the bulk over the summer King keeps saying were missing.  That said not sure if he wouldn’t turn out to be to similar to Howard in the middle, odd touch of magic then AWOL for most of the game.

Only downside with Jenkins in the middle is that if fatty plays for Barnsley it will be on the left wing and while Lapham looks capable I’d rather an old head mark him and make the dough ball look an elephant’s leg in a Kebab shop.

Other news today I see that King was off on the hunt again yesterday trying to strengthen the squad and still feels he's 2/3 experienced heads short of a picnic.  He’s got four weeks today to get bodies in before the Window closes.  Not holding my breath!

I think we can be sure of atleast one more player. All we really need is a competent midfielder. We have a first 11 and new signings should only happen if they improve that. What we don't want to do is sign backup players

collins could start right back and jenks in the middle. That would work,  and collins will 'have' howard no problem.

Good call forgot about him and had presumed he'd be at CB after it had been openly implied Ifil had ballsed up big time in the friendly the other day.

Stick Ifil on Nardellio and we'll be laughing.

Until kick off.

I'm going to write to Andy King and tell him to sign that Junior Lewis.  If he can afford approx 30k-60k for a non-league Welsh player and still have change in his back pocket for a Gary Jones then surely he can put a viable package to the big man.

If we picked up a Lewis and another loan player then I'd feel rather confident.

What ever happened to that Ginger defender from United and young Henry who was on trial last week?
