Salary cap?
True, that was probably it.

Pompey are not going to be in a position to pay any fee and if benson wants to go there then at his age let him go on a free transfer with perhaps a clause that pompey have to pay a fee if he get's them promotion during his contract with them, I've no problem with him leaving on a freebie, he's been the consumate pro while he has been here and been in and out the team.

Don't agree.
We get him back and keep him as back up...if we get a couple of injuries towards the seasons end it is important we have plenty of cover.
If they want him then they buy him....if they can't then he comes back in my opinion.
I agree that he has been the consumate pro...even more reason to keep him here.

I'd rather have Benson on the bench instead of Adam Rooney.

As others have said, we seem to be a soft touch with transfer fees of late. Paying too much and getting sod all in return. Expect this to be an 'undisclosed' to avoid any STFC fan wrath.
