Ward committed to his "Stone Age" lifestyle

THE level of commitment and sacrifice it takes to be a professional footballer is something the majority of fans are well aware of, but Swindon Town defender Darren Ward takes dedication to a whole new level as he strives to extend his already impressive career.

When I read this article I had visions of him clubbing centre forwards over the head in the style of these gents:

I learnt something new today:

Quote from: Wikipedia
Although the soft, orange sweet potato is often mislabeled a "yam" in parts of North America, the sweet potato is botanically very distinct from a genuine yam

I did one of these diets before, lost loads of weight, not eating carbs was horrible, you end up smelling bad and the cramps you get during the first couple of months were awful.  Also found out I was allergic to Spirulina as it was one of the supplements i was taking at the time.

If you were experiencing pain then I think you must have been going quite wrong somewhere. Or perhaps you were eating loads of processed shit before and the new, more raw, natural, diet was a shock to your system. The Paleo thing is all about going back to what humans are naturally evolved and supposed to eat, getting away from anything we struggle to deal with scientifically, so it shouldn't hurt you at all.

I've got the book, the Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf, and read some last night actually. I'm not fat at all, just interested in how I can improve the quality of what I eat. Also met an ex-banker whilst travelling who was 35 but looked 25 at the most, and was absolutely stacked - he was on the Paleo diet too, when at home.

I think the adver is a bit wrong in their article though, they say "With treats like ‘poisonous’ chocolate at an absolute minimum and alcohol a no-go". The bit I read last night had a line about how it is fine to go to the supermarket and pick up some 75% cocoa chocolate and a bottle of red wine. Cider is fine too, as it's from apples. Beer is from grain, so that's a no-no.

Friend of mine has been doing this and looks phenomenal. Considering it myself, but think I might be a lost cause!
