Does he do any fucking research in signing these players? The amount we have spunked on shit loanees is getting beyond a laugh.
Someone may be able to confirm this but have Hollands and Martin wages/fees been paid out of the extra £500k that was moved forward from Jan to bring us out of M'Bargo?
How many players has PDC brought in, in his 18 months here? Both perms and loans? I am thinking it must be 60+?

The obvious answer is ...no. Transfer matters are dealt with by the agent Phil Spencer, now it's debatable, whether PdC says I'd like Hollands and Martin, make it so, Phil. Or, as seems more likely, PdC says I'd like a striker and midfielder with some decent Div 3 experience....who's out there Phil?

What happened to our scouting system? Some fella called Ken Ryder or summat? I've brought up Phil Spencer before and no else seems to give much of a monkeys but given the amount of money in agents fee the club has paid of which a fair amount he will have pocketed hasnt he/PDC got some serious questions to answer? Could you have imagined the uproar if SSW has brought in something similar in the olden days?

As there is barely a single player who hasn't come in for some of Paolo's wrath at some time I wouldn't read too much into this. No reason that loan players would be immune - hopefully it's just that he feels they need a bit of kick up the backside to fit his high standards.
I can't understand the general moans about loan players. Any club at our level will have a mixed experience - we always have and will continue to do - for every Michael Carrick there is a Jamie Slabber.
Currently I like both Ward and Bostock and still have hopes that Martin and Hollands can do a good job for us over the next month.

Ryder no longer works for the club...there was a blog posted about him maybe a week ago. These things only become a problem for fans when you start losing...which is probably why you're raising the issue now. Here you are... http://thetownend.com/index.php?topic=49783.0

Fair enough...PdC openly said when Wray got ousted, that he was worried because he needed a team around him who he could trust and work with...Wray was such an individual, as is Spencer. Doncaster operate a similar policy and they're doing OK.

I just think there should be a certain independance in the process. After all when PDC goes does Spencer follow? Hence we have no scouting system to fall back on and the new incumbant has to start again from scratch.

I see lower league football, becoming more like the theatre in the future....there, actors are on the books of agencies, if a producer/director wants an actor he goes to the agency, sees who's on the books and trials suitable candidates, before taking them for duration of the play etc. We'll probably end up with Max Bialystock as manager

I got shot down for this in a previous thread but what is the point of bringing in someone like Chris Martin who is clearly unfit...fuck me some of the squad train all summer and are still not deemed fit enough....its a kick in the teeth for other players who are fit to be dropped for someone who clearly is very unfit like Martin. Sure Martin may have some class....but will we reap the benefit of this, only time will tell i suppose. Of course to PDC loan players are just part of a final solution....but other managers will see his comments(like Sheffield Wednesday and Giles Coke) and will not be keen to do buisness i reckon. What Di Canio said about the players was true......but i see it as his job to get his players fired up for action...loan players rarely will have fire in there bellies....thats one of the reasons why they are being made available for loan deals in the first place. Think Ward has done very well but i know a lot of my friends would beg to differ.
