I know County are not a two man team but these two missing is a big blow for them, especially Hughes being out for the next three. Typical Hughes, elbowing someone off the ball. Notts will be expecting a backlash from us tomorrow and there's a good chance they'll get one.

Lee Hughes has left Notts County to go on loan to Port Vale he was never going to play us even if he didn't get suspended.

I heard that yesterday but thought it was just a rumour?

Hughes scored twice at the weekend, and Port Vale have less than no money. Weird if that has happened

Vale have also got Pope the football league leading scorer who they are trying to hold onto so perhaps they are looking at Hughes as a replacement. It's strange that Vale or County haven't mentioned this loan though.

Hughes has told the " Nottingham Post " newspaper that he asked for a transfer request because he was " sick of sitting on the bench " And has signed for Vale. The County fans are gutted by the sounds of it. Edit: Although, today's last comment in the paper regarding this story has just said " looks like the deal hasn't gone through"

Reporters are saying its a big gamble by Curle but does he want a player in Hughes who doesn't want to be there unless he starts every game. I know Vale are doing well at the moment but this just seems a strange transfer. A bit when like Mooney left us and went down the road.

I think (but can't be 100% sure) that Vale have new owners now.

They do, the takeover was completed this week, a takeover worth around £1.3million.
