Has benson actually left yet? I know the Pompey papers say they are after him on loan with a view to a permanent signing but I havent seen that hes actually left yet. Not a massive shock though if he does. Benson does/did offer us options up front, I like Benson and will miss him.

On paper 2 good signings in Holland and Martin. Looking forward to seeing what both can do this weekend.

Why would any player under contract sign for Portsmouth? Loan I'd understand as I suspect we'd guarantee his wages if they couldn't pay, but permanently?
Not being funny, but they're far from out of the woods yet.

I think most would rather we shipped Rooney back to Birmingham, than let Benson leave. I take it we're contracted to pay Rooney's wages (or part of them) for the rest of the season?

I agree, thats a big gamble on Bensons part as the takeover is still up in the air even though it is "supposed to happen soon". Portsmouth are reportedly looking to take Swindon striker Paul Benson on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
According to SkySports.com, Pompey hope to land the experienced forward now, before adding him to their ranks on a full-time basis in January.
A deal will, however, depend on the success of a proposed takeover at Fratton Park.
The Pompey Supporters' Trust have edged a step closer to buying the League One club, with a deal agreed with administrators.
Should Portsmouth be able to find some much-needed stability, they will then be able to focus their full attention on efforts on the field.
Benson is considered to be the type of player who could aid them in their quest to secure promotion back into the Championship.
The former Dagenham and Charlton frontman is now 33 years of age, but he is a proven goalscorer in the Football League.

Benson is the only fucker we have that can hold a ball up and win headers. Goal ratio ain't bad either.
If Martin can do better than that then great.

I wouldn't know Danny Hollands if he punched me in the face so can't comment on him.
Martin is potentially a stupendous signing though.
