Hype will not help Miles says PDC

THE public focus on the rise of young striker Miles Storey is having a detrimental effect on his development, according to Paolo Di Canio.

So, the 5 that PDC were presented with where who?

Billy Bodin
Callum Kennedy - I get the feeling that PDC didn't like his hairstyle and tattoos.
Abdul Said
Will Evans - Went to Hereford but don't know where he is now
Jakub Jesionkowski ?

In fairness, this isn't a separate interview, he burbled this post-match on Saturday, just the Adver doing the usual thing of stringing out the post-match comments over two-three days.

Actually thinking about it "stringing it out" is a little unfair, used to apply when they did it with other managers but with Di Canio, you can get two weeks' worth of what you'd get from a normal manager in one 20-minute post-match rant, if they tried to publish it all on the Monday, they'd need a separate supplement.

Or, you get it all in a single Shaw Rosso-esque post in the match day thread in between discussions about the Germans bombing my grandad's chip shop, the way that away supporters are ripped off, lucky beer, lucky shits, walking the dog, the world running 20 minutes ahead of a choppy STFCPlayer and the odd discussion about football.

Billy Bodin
Still playing in the League, and still being used as a proxy to have a pop at his Dad. As is this whole bit really.

Callum Kennedy - I get the feeling that PDC didn't like his hairstyle and tattoos.
Also still in the League, despite Di Canio saying they'd all dropped out except for Bodin. Surprised at that for a "top top manager" who "knows every player in every League".

Will Evans - Went to Hereford but don't know where he is now
Still at Hereford, he did something or other of note in their 1st round FA Cup tie cos my lad came bursting out into the kitchen from watching the highlights to tell me a Swindon player was on!

Assuming, of course, that you're correct about which 5. And indeed that Di Canio is remembering it correctly. He seems to pluck quite a few of his "facts" out of his arse.

NMH really is the Paolo whisperer. Listened back to Saturday's interview and understood about 3 words in the whole thing.

Matt Clark & Mark Scott were the others.  Both now playing for Salisbury who are top of the Conf south.

What about Nathan Thompson? Apart from the stuff pauld mentions I'd argue the younger lads will have improved more due to the fact they havetrained with older pros daily, more than the manager himself. Just another swipe at bodin.

Wasn't getting at that. The point I was trying to support was that the Adver gets its info from one interview after the game, which most of us listen to, or discuss amongst ourselves.

Surely they should be looking to post breaking news about Madine's court case and whether that scuppers a deal or not?

Well most of us do yes but then we have the benefit of your marvellous translation services. For the wider public they've probably long since given up trying to work out what the fuck he's on about on the radio so it's only two-three days later when they read it in the Adver they can realise that it wasn't a problem with his accent, he just didn't make any sense anyway Smiley

 Embarrassed

Thank you.

P.S. Madine will face trial in April. I wonder whether sending him to work under an authoritarian manager in a different town will be something that a judge would look favourably on?
