Was it was you who left the London contingent at Reading Ardiles? If so i seem to remember you promised to give it bigsticks to the Reading and Arsenal. Such a let down :-)
It was. And yes...I failed. Sorry. There was one of them banging on about it being 'the best game since Milan' all the way to Farnborough. I was spent, and just nodded politely.

Watching those cunty Villa fans at the end celebrating like they'd won the lottery, world cup and Ashes all in one summed up how fucking bad their season is gonna be.
Very much to their credit, proper fans of a proper club...something I can't stand is fans of Champion's League regulars, who can barely raise a round of applause, when they score a goal against some inferior opposition, because they expect it.

and for the record, I actually thought the villa fans were damn loud when they got themselves together...some of the loudest I have ever heard at the CG...

Mine was doing that from the start of the season, took it back into the ticket office on the advice of the turnstile bloke and have had it reprinted. Took about a month to get it back and was sent paper tickets in the meantime, but have had no problems since.
Mines so good the turnstile went green as i approached it from the Cunty Hotel.

Of the four defeats I've seen now vs Villa, that was the closest. I've got nothing against their lot at all. The Villa fans I met on the way to the game were genuine enough. They're not the force they once were, and the fans know it. They seem pretty grounded to me.
The stand out memory of the visit to Villa Park in 1993/94 was the Holte End terrace. The noise, and the way it just went back, and back, and back, and back...
I was very impressed by that.

Re: our celebration. We had just blown a two goal lead against League One opposition so it was out of relief more than anything else. You can't beat a good 'mental' to celebrate a goal anyway, give me that over the likes of Chelsea politely clapping.
Fair play to you lot, you were the better team and were unlucky. Our clinical finishing was the only difference. I told you all on here before the game that we're rubbish!
If you play like that every week you'll walk that division.

A great game to be at and despite the final result, a game to look back on with a degree of pride. Collins and Benson both were a pain in the arse of the Villa midfield and defence. Ritchie had some sublime moments- nicking the ball of the Villa player with a cheeky back heel at the touchline in the second half was a joy to watch. He suffered fom not having the interplay with the right back. I think Devera and McCormack should have switched as Alan seems to offer better options going forward. Roberts seems to have vision and a football brain but, at the moment, his touch and ability don't match his vision. The change in the game when he was swapped for Raffa was obvious. Miller had some really good moments and was solid for most of the game. I would say the same for Jay though his distribution from the back let him down at times. Storey is growing into a real prospect. If he continues his development in the way he has over the last 12 months, he could be a real prospect for the club, either as a goal scorer or as a source of a big transfer fee. I agree with Paolos apparent plan to ease him into regular football. I would hate for a really promising young lad we were developing to burn out or fall foul of the recurring injury bug through too speedy a rise. To cap off the evening, SWMBO and I gave a rousing chorus of "4 nil and you fucked it up!" as we drove past junction 11 on the way home

My first trip to Villa Park was for the 2nd replay v Nottm Forest 5th round cup 67, a neutral ground, as happened back then. Town were given the Holte End, crowd of just about 53,000, so it was full of STFC fans, no idea how many it held, but possibly not far off how many were there last night. Up to that point think it was the biggest crowd I'd been in, and was awesome. Outside of Wembley, don't think I've seen such a one stand gathering of Town fans since.

Glad by all reports that we played well, shame they scored in the 90th!
Re their celebration, any last minute winner regardless of opposition merits going mental!

Fair play Holte Ender. Is it safe to say you are a little 'bored' of being in the Premiership?

Nice to see a player good enough for relegation and from a poor youth set up do well Need to take the positives from this now and mount a serious promotion push.

Swindon should take the celebration as a compliment...
