Proud of them tonight, difference was just that little bit of quality especially in the final third. Nice little scrap outside the County afterwards - police let a Villa minibus park there and some of them decided to wreck the CG, unfortunately for them they got turned over!!

Gutted we lost tonight. We didn't deserve that at all. We were the better team the difference though was the class in the final third with the finishing. Even before their first we could have opened the scoring with the one that was cleared off the line.
Very spirited performance none the less and the fact that the Villa fans celebrated like they had won the cup let alone the game at the end told the story.
Onwards and upwards. If we play like that every week in league one we'll at least finish in the top 6.

Proud of the players, they did wonderfully well tonight. I think the better team lost but hey ho, good luck to Villa in the next round.
Played some great stuff in the second half didn't we?
We did indeed and Batch is right that their finishing was more clinical, plus they were less hesitant to take the shot, with the obvious and rather magnificent exception of Storey. "Storey Glorey" headline for tomorrow? If I was a Villa fan I'd be very worried, their celebrations looked more like relief than anything

Oh and Gabby Agbonlahor giving it the big one against a league one side. Well done Gabby. Found your level at last.

Devera is not a right back at all, I would rather see McCormack there. Thompson is certainly the first choice but he needs backup.

I thought he was a tit and the Villa fans celebrating like they had just turned over Man Utd made me chuckle. They got hammered tonight and were second best albeit the score.

I guess they haven't won much this season but their OTT celebrations were quite amusing.

I am very proud of the lads after that performance and a classic Di Canio moment at the end. I don't think he'll be wrong Villa will struggle and if I was a fan of theres, luckily I'm not, I'd be very worried! They celebrated like they'd won the flipping cup and we battered them! Sadly we've lost but enough of them, it's been a great cup run that will live long in the memory, lets start another one on Saturday!!! If we can play like we have the past 2 games I don't think we'll be far off an automatic promotion challenge! C.O.Y.R!!!

Said to my mate "If they enjoyed it tonight, they only need carry on playing like that for the next couple of seasons and they'll get 40-odd chances to beat League One sides".

I think if Storey and a match-fit Williams had started the game we'd have won comfortably. Also, De Vita > Roberts.
We'll murder Sheffield United.

Wasn't quite so proud of the idiots in the Town End, probably cost us a fine for throwing those bottles at the Villa players!!

I'd hate to be a Villa fan - what is the point ? Doing fuck all year after year after year. Just making up the numbers in the PL.
Proud to be a Town fan.

Great game... we played some really nice stuff, and could (should?) have had a haul had our finishing/final ball been better. Villa and their strikers were more clinical than we were, and that was the main difference.
Williams changed the game, Collins worked tirelessly (hope it's appreciated by fans despite not much goal return), Storey looks like he could be a decent striker. Flint was great (despite another stupid yellow), and virtually everyone put in an admirable shift. Also, great save from Wes at 2-0 down.
The following observations are not based solely on this game (but have been spurred by todays match): - Devera and McCormack need to swap. Macca hasn't looked too assured in the middle this year, and had a storming performance at full back the other day. Devera isn't a full back. - I'm yet to be properly impressed by Roberts. Should have put one away tonight at the far post but was scared of putting his head in where it was needed, and doesn't get enough crosses in. - McEveley has forgotten how to cross since his purple patch a few weeks ago.
Really proud of the effort, style, skill, and endeavour on show... hope we carry it forward.
