Hello friends,

Apologies for a mundane 4D style thread but I am embarking on the exciting journey that is shoe repair for the first time. I have a £2 coin sized hole in the sole of my snappy daps.

My questions are:

Can anyone recommend a place in Swindon?
Is there a waiting list for such services or do they do it 'same day'?
Does having a complete re-sole (if this is possible of course) make your shoes look shit?

Thank you in advance and may you all have many sons

I've had shoes re-soled at the cobblers at the bus station before. I think they did them the same day.

Not in the Q&A forum = fail.

Back to the question, just walk around town for a bit, what with all the chewing gum and the law of averages your hole will soon be filled.

Or, get some expanding foam.

Not really

I have a pair of Loakes that I paid £350 for over 10 years ago and I still wear them twice a week.

Needless to say they are still in great condition.

How much have you spent on shoes in a similar period ?

I can cope with paying a few hundred for a pair of handmade leather shoes from a firm like Loakes. Not for a pair of Daps though. My Mrs says this is because I'm a miserable old bastard.
