Think it's time to reassess my outgoings for the above. I currently have BT broadband @ £20 per month and the line rental of £14 per month. Now I asked her indoors when was the last time she used the land line to call someone when she has her face constantly glued to her iPhone. I have a company iPhone and I also added her old Nokia to the contract for a nominal fee (don't want the co to know everyone I call!). So totalling all our communication out goings I reckon we shell out £89 per month for all that lot. We also have Sky.

The point or question is I'm happy with the arrangements so to speak but I know that you all know that this can be provided by a plethora of providers at a much reduced rate. So where can I can get this without spending the next month of my life trying to do so?

I know what you mean. It seems you have to have a landline to have broadband, although I know if you have broadband without the landline it then shoots the price up. It depends on your needs for the broadband, do you work from home? Do you need fibre optic etc?

Talk talk are the cheapest home phone and broadband provider. Go on a comparison site and compare products I'd suggest

If you have sky why don't you just get their unlimited broadband for £7.50 a month?

I had the complete Sky package but still had to pay BT for line rental. Recently moved over to Virgin (as Sky box packed up) and got a good deal. Internet much faster through fibre-optic connection and no BT charge. To break down all the options available from various sources is a real pain though as they all seem to be offering this and that off for the first few months.

 Hmmm

That's only if they've got equipment in your exchange. They wanted to charge me £35 a month including line rental.

Bump.

Who are people using these days? Looking to leave Talk Talk and not looking to go to fibre.

Some neighbours really rate EE, saying it is very stable.

I've got the Sky bundle - includes landline and broadband and, of course, Sky TV package.

The monthly does vary slightly because of any variance of calls made, but last month it was £79

Virgin broadband only, it's a bit more expensive but the service is top notch. Plus you actually get the speed you pay for.

Virgin bundle pretty decent - similar to Sky in price but broadband quicker and better service as Jayo says.

Think we pay £55 a month for broadband, basic phone package and the medium TV channel set, plus Sky Sports (SD).

They're all good until things go wrong. They all then appear to be bloody awful.
They all get slated by one person or another
