One other point of frustration, when there is 4 minutes to go we are 1-0 and the opposition have a corner, can't we take a bit of a gamble and not put 11 men in our own box.

It pisses me off big time whenever we are defending a corner or free kick - the opposition always get two bites at the cherry because we do nothing but hoof the ball up to the half way line where it is gleefully hoofed back!!

As poor a performance from the Town as I have seen in a long time.

The hoofball tactic was rumbled as a BAD IDEA very early but TAH kept trying it- FAIL!

Bessone was too wasteful.

One day (please!) I will see a performance from Navaro that will justify his inclusion in our team. Yesterday was not it.

Raffa was the only midfield player that seemed to offer much of a threat- substituted?

Benno was as much of a scoring prospect as Williams- substituted?

Overall, Macca, Jay, and Williams were OK but not their usual selves.

Ritchie was pretty anonymous but that wasn't necessarily his fault. he didn't get the support he is used to and needs to thrive (a' la Thompson).

With the tactics we employed last night, if we had played with 5 defenders and 5 strikers, we wouldn't have faired any worse so ineffective was our midfield as a unit.

Oh and Rose? You are a cunt.

Troy's distribution was horrific.

His performance was generally Boateng-esque.

This was probably the most disappointing aspect of last night for me, hopefully just a one off because I've been really impressed by him previously.

If you didn't go to the Brighton game, you've already missed it Smiley

We were crap all over last night. The team looked very incoherent/disjointed, too much tinkering maybe?

Well it was nights like last night that made me appreciate the good nights. It was woeful at best. I will also give Colchester some credit. They absolutely packed out the midfield, which I fear other teams will do, and caused us to hoof from the back to the front which is not our game at all. I also think it was one of those games where every ball just rebounded to their feet. Hopefully a win at bury will make us forget this defeat soon as.

I thought my mate Terry summed it up quite nicely. "It was very much a game of two halves. And we were shit in both of them" Smiley

Blimey... just read a few comments on thisis - always a dangerous way to pass time - and you'd think our season had imploded. A win last night would have put us second. The defeat, though disappointing, leaves us just 3 points off that second spot. Hardly the end of the world.

No, we can't keep playing like last night. Yes, I too am wondering what's going on with Bostock. Yes, of course Thompson was injured. Yes, Paolo probably does chop and change his team too much. But are any of these things really a cause for the reaction akin to a fanbase threatenend with relegation? No.

I say it would have put us second, that's a lie. It might have done, and at one stage going ahead would have done.

Perfection is not attainable

It was another bad day at the office, thats it, no major problem just a blip.

I am a little concerned that Paolo does not seem to know his best side, or perhaps he does and just wants to keep the players on their toes?

I personally would like to see a settled side with at least 9 regulars in every game but maybe swapping one or two in midfielder/winger/striker but with the bulk of the team, certainly the defence and central midfield staying as a solid unit. This is my only slight concern with PdC in that he does like to tinker with a winning formula/side.

We will have more of these off days in this league because we will be punished more by individual errors/peices of brilliance by the oppo because generally the standard is better in this league.

Certainly no need to panic at all.

Oh and I agree with R4E what is happening with Bostock? surely he is up to pace with training now and he obviously has great skills. Oh and please maybe can you lighten up the training a little PdC we are getting too many injuries too early in the season for my liking.

I was quite angry last night, 200 mile round trip to watch that crap, but I suppose we have been spoiled over the last year so can't really complain.

Everything has been pretty much covered, but some of fans seem to think that we are guaranteed to win every game 4-0. Yes, it was awful last night, but we are 3 points off the automatics at the start of October, that constitutes a solid start for me.

I really hope the Paolo out comment I heard on the radio last night was tongue in cheek...

Agreed, fair play to colchester they came with a plan to frustrate us and hopefully get a point. We were shit but that's because colchester made us play their way, looked like a bunch of pub team players individuals. The longball didn't work, just kept coming back. How that cunt rose didn't get booked for time wasting I'll never know. I think I'm going to stick money on all ex-players coming back to score. I can't think of any positives from last nights game. My personal opinion was that Bessone and TAH were the worst.

I'm now looking forward to the next hopefully it can't get any worse then last night. Its never fucking easy watching the Town, but thats why we all do it.
