Anyone suffer with these shit things? I've got three on my foot, one's about 10 years old now, if not older, just can't seem to shift the feckers.

Tried the gel, no good, now on to freezing them off, fun but don't think it's working that well. Tried the gaffer tape idea, banana skin everything.

Haven't got the routine in my working week to organise regular appointments to get it off by a pro.

Annoying.

I used scholl freeze spray on both my sons when they had verrucas.  It didn't seem to be having any effect and then they suddenly just dropped off.  I had to use it around 4 times I think over a couple of months, because you had to have a 2 week break between uses.

The doctor will only use a freeze spray anyway.

I defy anyone of a certain age to see this thread title and not think of school swimming lessons and verruca socks.

When I had them as a youngster I used an emery board and kept filing them down, everyday, without fail (not to the point of bleeding), then one day they just fell off. I did this each time I had one as a child and they all fell off or could be pulled off after a period of unknown length.

I always have a verruca or two on the go.

They just sit there doing very little, causing no pain or discomfort. I've never quite gotten around to giving them names but one does get quite attached to them, so to speak.

I was a bit like that with mine FH, especially the one I got from when I played footie years ago. But now having a couple of little ones I'm a bit worried one of them will get one and that won't make me feel good. So I want to get rid.

I am on the freeze spray method again (tried this years ago and it did nothing), seems the only way for that to work is ignore the guidance and keep blitzing them every few days, got to the black spot bit, is that the actual verucca? Or is there a hub to this little mother flippers, like a root or something?

Foot doctors no good, as like I say my job means I'm here and there from day to day so can't pencil in regular appointments for this kind of thing.

Used to go to my GP when I was younger for treatment.

Every now and then he'd have a verruca treatment session. This basically involved him getting a flask of liquid nitrogen and applying it on said verruca with a cotton bud.

Yeah I had to go to those when I was little, I remember loving the smell of the stuff they used to treat veruccas. Ah the beautiful childhood memories of growing up in Calne...

I have had one ongoing for about 6 or 7 years it comes up and goes then comes back again.

The only way that seemed to work for me for a while was believe it or not Duck Tape over the verruca inside of the sock, it starves it of oxygen it needs to grow and survive and slowly over a week or so goes away.

The only problem was with mine that it came back inside about 4 months again in exactly the same spot, probably a weakness in the skin, but this one started out the size of a 5p piece and is now the size of a pin head.

I had them for about 10 years. One was right in the middle of the ball of my foot and hurt like hell as it rubbed against my shoes whatever I did.

Strangely one day by big toe swelled to at least twice the size, I went to the doctor and he said it was the virus that caused the verrucas working its way out of my body, after one week the toe stopped being swollen and the verrucas disappeared over the subsequent month
