Firstly I am male mid 50's went to a average school and have followed STFC from the age of 5.

If so, most West Indian / Indian and Pakistan cricket players are dark/ black skinned and therefore am I allowed to call them darkies or blacks ?

The thing is NZ, it is accepted in modern society that you simply don't refer to anybody's colour, nationality or religion. People are just people. So if the black guy in the office always dips out of buying his round down the pub, he is simply a tight fucker, not a tight black fucker.

I have worked with blacks, asians, welsh, irish, scandinavians, gays, lesbians, gingers and even welsh people. It is all much better if people just don't go anywhere near any reference to any of this, then any argument about "I wasn't being racist, just descriptive" doesn't crop up.
