If you could go back in time and have a season ticket for any team for any season what would you go for?
Reckon I'd go for West Ham around 1973, to watch Moore, Lampard, Brooking, Hurst, Redknapp et al in action.

Got to be Swindon in 69. I would have loved to have seen Don Rogers play, and watch us beating Arsenal at Wembley.

Watched that Six Games to Saturday documentary recently from 63' where we had like 18k vs Leyton Orient. Would go back to that season and stand on Shrivvy Road.

Just seems a bit obvious and boring picking a Swindon season. Plus I was there during our rise from the 4th under Macari onwards, there aren't any better Swindon seasons for me. My choice means watching two World Cup winners and a few other legends, and I've always thought football in the 70's was cooler than the 60's and not as gay as the 80's. |

No word of a lie - it would have to be Swindon Town, 1992/93. The football that season was dreamy. Another chance to see Hoddle as conductor, wearing the number 4 shirt with such flair and composure. And another chance to see that goal against Sunderland on the opening day.

West Ham is a good call but for me it would be Liverpool in 77 at their footballing prime.
For a Swindon season I would love to have gone back to 1909-10 season when we got through to the FA Cup semi final with the great Harold Fleming, we also beat Reading 9-1 that season.

Don't know what the year was, but for one game only, I would have loved to have been at the Oxford v Orient game that got them relegated out of the League.
I would have had to wear an adult nappy cos I would have been pissing myself laughing.

1962/63, the Bert Head Babes side that having just won promotion to the old Division 2 were top of the league after 10 matches.Most of the early matches were sell out crowds and beating sides like Manchester City, Sunderland and Leeds. Hugely gifted players that had progressed through the youth set up, Hunt,Summerbee,Rogers,Woodruffe and co, sadly the side were 2 or 3 quality players short of being the finished article and never quite fulfilled the early promise.

I'd go for the 1910/11 Southern League champions side...also got to the quarter final of FA Cup, but lost to Chelsea in front of 77,000 at the Bridge. Once met an old boy who told me how large numbers of young Town fans cycled up. to London for this, as it was a bit of an adventure...no traffic on roads.
Would have been heady days...happily oblivious, to how the world would change forever within 3 years or so.
