I'm not sure if it is worthwhile reading much into which players didn't make it on to the bench - a squad with as much depth as ours has means that some will always miss out
I'm wondering if Flint and De Vita were the 'disruptive influences'. I can't understand why De Vita's not even on the bench. Rooney's out of form and perhaps Bostock isn't fit. As you say, someone has to miss out with the size of our squad.

How many players did we use in total last season? Which players were in and out of favour on at least one occasion? RDV didn't get a look in towards the end of the season.
Everyone will play their part no doubt.

Enjoyed that today. I actually thought Bournemouths heads dropped even after the 1st goal and by the 3rd they looked like they didn't want to be out there. Really pleased for Thompson and agree with the mom decision, Can't remember him putting a foot wrong today. A real solid team proformance. Looking forward to Tuesdays game under lights, should be a cracker.

Was that O'Kane fella playing for them? The one too good for us according to the Torquay fans after he was constantly linked our way.

He was on the pitch, didn't do a lot though.

Really enjoyed Thompson's interview on the radio, seems like a really bright lad, with his head screwed on.

Reading through the posts, some have mentioned squad members missing from the match day squad. Here's my take on it..
In regards team selection for the matchday squad, PDC has obviously made the team fight not just for the starting 11 but for the 18. I think this mentality goes astray at most clubs with players thinking "I won't start so I'll be on the bench". PDC though has made our lot think "I won't be starting so I'd better make sure I make the bench" This way you have 18 tuned in players for match day and not 11. It breeds confidence throughout.
We're seeing at the moment that once you're not picked for the bench (Flint, Rooney to name a couple), it's hard to get back on it and even more difficult to break through to the starting XI. This mentality increases competition for places, makes each and every player train even harder than the previous session and the results (I hope after yesterday's performance) will continue in this positive manner.
Roll on Burnley and hope PDC does give some of the "outsiders" a chance to see what they've got on Tuesday night.

PDC doesn't often get appreciative posts (I wonder why!) but here goes from the AFC Bournemouth Forum I gave up watching the football after about 75 mins yesterday and thought I'd watch Di Canio instead. Incredible. Whatever people's opinions are of him one thing you cannot deny is his charisma and passion. He was non stop yesterday, arm waving, gesticulating shouting, arguing with the 4th official, at some points he was 4 yards onto the pitch but he was so watchable I was envious of the Swindon fans having someone like that to sing about. At the end of the match he ' high fived' every single one of his players and then shook hands and said a few words to everyone of our players as they left the pitch. Groves was nowhere...saw very little of him during the game..leant against his dugout out of view and when the final whistle went he just turned tail and disappeared down the tunnel. Now i know that the supporters sang for his head and want him out but he could have acknowledged the away fans at the end. He acknowledged nothing. 750 fans the journey up there and i think they deserved some reaction from him after that performance. He's lost the dressing room and he's lost the fans. I wish we had a ' Di Canio ' .Read more: http://www.bournemouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=52936&posts=1#ixzz27I4tkGDc

I hope some of those giving that were Ward shit on twitter feel like fucking idiots.
I didn't twitter but I did say ward was shit at Oxford and...he was. Yesterday he was v good. Bmuff had that coming.....any team that can deny the legend of Dossevi a perfectly good goal needs punishing. Bmuff lucky it wasn't more. A few more deflections our way and it would of been.

No he didn't, not all of them, he kicked Ritchie up the arse! Seems to be becoming a bit of a "love pat" thing between the two of them

PDC kicked him up the arse after he had scored his and our second.
So he has scored since.
