In my defence it was trying to rip my Labrador's neck to pieces and was the only way left to stop the damn devil dog.
Was pretty horrific but luckily no lasting damage, just a couple of puncture marks around the back of her head.
As an animal lover, it feels a little odd to deliberately hurt another animal but the thought of what could've happened doesn't bear thinking about.

Had to punch it right on the snout and luckily it let go do my dog could run off. Unfortunately I didn't know it was only superficial wounds otherwise I would've called the fucking police and had the thing destroyed. No idea who the owner was but will be giving him a fucking mouthful if I see him again.

A bloke near me has two weimeraners which have attacked my dog twice.
Bloody scary when you are involved in it.

Thought your whippet would have been able to run away One of my whippets got attacked by a boxer & an alsatian when he was a puppy - when he sees one now it's 'payback time' The other whippet just stands still and she hopes that the dog doesn't notice her - doesn't always work, but she is like the roadrunner when she moves.

They had tried several times out in the open and he just gave them a wide birth. The 2 times they got him was when I met them down a narrow lane with a gate at the end and he was penned in.
They have attacked other dogs as well. Have flagged tham up to police and dog warden but they aren't interested.

As you may know I've recently had a dog attack on my son, they would not hurt a fly they cry. Fuck of all dogs have an inbuilt ability to attack any other dog/human without provocation.

Sorry to hear that fatbasher, really hope your son is okay.
Not sure I agree that every dog has that inbuilt instinct anymore, certain breeds have been domesticated for so long that, I believe, they've lost it. Having said that, there are plenty of breeds where I'd agree entirely with you, the ones which are all muscle and jaw.

Even as the owner of a dog from a normally placid breed I would have to disagree with that. All dogs, however normally good natured, can't be guaranteed to act in a certain way at a certain time. As an owner, you have to be constantly aware and manage the risk. I would never leave my whippet alone with a toddler or baby, for example, because although he like to be made a fuss of, I dread to think what would happen if a little one went anywhere near his food bowl, or accidentally stepped on him.
