Perfection is not attainable

Couldn't agree more. That was really not worth the time, effort and money that go into making a 300+ mile round trip to see your team play. They didn't do one single thing right all afternoon and as has been said, could have played until Monday and would not have scored.

I can't remember the last time I was so gutted after a game.

Fair play to Orient though, they deserved the win.
I cannot disagree at all with that, I only had a 220 mile round trip and luckily thanks to Flash I didn't have to buy a ticket but I have not felt so upset after a game since Hart was in control. So much so that I was a little angry to the bloke that wanted to interview me after the game for the Football League show last night, he seemed too happy when he approached me for an interview I just said in an upset voice I am very sorry but I am not in the mood to be interviewed at the moment.

Thought DeVita was one of the few to emerge with any credit

Depends on how many photos of the bridesmaids 'getting ready' you post.
trust me... I wouldn't put you through that... I liken yesterday to trying to photograph a Picasso life model with Attention Deficit Disorder...

Saw the FL show highlights. Judging from the Hoofball comments it can't have given an accurate impression of the actual game.

Anyway what did we expect, we have a team stuffed full of Britishers. They can't cope with warm sunny weather. We needed more foreign players for that. But wait and see what happens on cold and wet Tuesday Saturday in Carlisle. The wheels will firmly be put on then.

I said something similar reference to the heat after the Hartlepool game Batch, put it to PDC that the heat didn't help.  He got quite annoyed & explained that's why he took them to Italy pre-season.  Having said that he's brought several new faces in since then!

Only caught the last half hour of this game and got the stream up and running literally as the ball crossed the line. The brief replay I saw as I fought to close down some advertisements that plagued the stream, seemed to suggest Flint lost his balance and lifted his foot when he should have cleared. That lads confidence must be shot but I've said this before, I don't think the lad is a natural footballer, he is a headerer.

I bumped into a few town fans at the train station who said it was the worst they had seen us play under PDC. Paolo himself seems to agree according to today's adver.

After all the ranting by Di Canio in the press and the Oxford performance i kind of expected us to get beat on Saturday as when the players were warming up at Oxford they looked rattled and not quite up for it and this Saturday they all looked shit scared of the football as most probably scared to make a mistake and be Di Canio's next victim.

PDC: "Send me off, we will win this league anyway"

I think PDC has put the fear into these players and for me this is completely wrong.

It doesn't allow them to play the free flowing, attractive football we did at the start of the season. The players are afraid to make mistakes and so will not take the risks as they live in fear of getting a backlash from PDC himself or a public humiliation.

Just think its time to tone to down the lambasting of the players through the media and just allow them to play how they were playing. The media are loving the PDC factor at the moment and never in my life have I seen a team in L1 been given so much attention before, during and after a league game. All this added into the mix is inevitably transferred to the players on the pitch and their performances and the last 3 games is the result of the way PDC is using the media outlets to put down players.

Great post LJ9, the players looked very tentative Saturday...whether it was fear or something else going on I don't think anyone is 100% on. I admire Di Canio and his passion, but there is a line and I personally feel recently he has crossed the line in the lambasting of players in the media. The confidence looks low, but fair play to Flint for getting MOM Saturday!

Sometimes we just have a collectively shit day. Sometimes the opposition play better than us or employ tactics we can't cope with.

I'm sure some players will be pissed off Caddis has gone, some will be pissed off with PDC's public slatings in general.  But some may even respond positively to both situations. Its a bit early to say he's lost them just yet!
