Vialli advice can end goal drought

PAOLO Di Canio will use the lessons passed down to him by Gianluca Vialli to help Andy Williams get through his current goal drought.

They really should sense-check some of his quotes before printing them.

He's really bigging Williams up.

Anyone shine any light on the 'he can score with grapes' quote.

Yeah following on from what some people were saying yesterday I think it shows maybe he does have a 'horses for courses' type of man management.

But of course PDC using a press interview to publicly praise a player and try to build up his confidence will draw far less reaction - from national media and on here/thisis - than him criticising another one for a mistake.

Slightly uncomfortable, though, with his need to describe the Orient central defenders as black and tough.

Is there really any need in mentioning their colour

I assume the grapes comment means he'll score a bunch.

They have 3 black players with pace is an odd turn of phrase for a manager in 2012 to use though, think we need to employ a decent PR guy to start managing these interviews

Of course they are. But would he bother saying they have 3 tough, white defenders?

It's almost tempting to stay in tonight to read the TEF. Well, not that tempting really.

He was stating what can only be described as a fact.

I don't care about his turn of phrase, but his critics will. That's all I'm saying.

Whether it's fact or not that they are black it's a stupid thing for a known fascist (read racist by some) to say.

Doubt he cares anyway, "I am Paolo, I'll say what I want"

What's the opposite of racism, which is clearly the use of race to provide a negative connotation?  Because the use of colour is clearly used to describe a positive attritbute which is supported by evidence, such as the 100m Olympic Final make-up, unless of course the 100m final is racist against us whities and there are in fact just as many white athletes who could have qualified but were not allowed to enter?

Exactly, critics will make even more of it because it's Leyton Orient and that's the team that gave us a certain black player on loan last season that filed a racism claim against Paolo.
