What's the kitchen towel for?

To stop it from exploding, absorbs a bit of fat too (for you health conscious pork pie lovers)

Always been a fan.  But have a free tip from me that I only picked up a few years ago.  A thin layer of English mustard on the meat filling.  Not too much...just enough to complement what's already there.  Seriously, it's a wonderful combination.

Concur.

My missus is a yank and she thought they were horrific creations until I got her to try one. Her face as she went through the pastry into the jelly into the meat was priceless.

Jelly is the best part, but greasy pastry can be offputting.

Just had a nice pork pie from the Pasty Pantry, going to save the Rattler until later I think.

The inside of a pork pie looks like dog food.
