So many clean sheets that Wes has lost count

WES Foderingham has admitted that he has stopped counting the number of consecutive clean sheets he has kept at the County Ground because there have been
  simply too many.

I think it said on the Champions DVD he had 24 last season. Incredible. The defence also have to take some credit for preventing him having to make many saves.

Indeed.

27 clean sheets from 44 games by my calculation. All competitions.

Easily the best permanent keeper we have had since Digby and possibly even before then, Flowers and Given might have been as good but were only loanees.

But the defence should, as Barry says, take almost as much credit for the clean sheets but a defence can only play confidently with a solid keeper behind them.

As much as I liked Phil Smith, there was always an air of uncertainty when he was in goal, you just had a feeling a fuck up was just around the corner.
You never get that with Super Wes, an absolute diamond.

However as others have said, the defence should take as much credit also.

I cant remember the last time we had a defence this solid and reliable.

And with strength in depth too.

Was talking about this - and in particular how good we've been at the CG - with someone this morning and came up with the following numbers, our record at home this calendar year in all competitions

P17 W16 D1 L0 GF 35 GA 2 GD +33

Not too shabby.

It was going round twitter the other day, we've only conceded one goal in over 1710 minutes of league football at home.

To put it into context, if Wes Foderingham keeps another 8 clean sheets, he'll be 8th on the all time list of clean sheet keepers in Swindon Town history! Just had a look on swindon-town-fc.co.uk, love that site! If he achieves that feat before 15th October (we have at least 12 games between now and then), he'll have done it inside 1 year at the club!

Basically, he's fantastic.

The Football Club should integrate the official site/news with Swindon-Town-FC.co.uk

Then it would be probably the best website in the entire world...

No, they shouldn't. Because that would be detrimental to the fantastic swindon-town-fc.co.uk.
