This story has now appeared both on the club's official FB and Twitter.

We have one left back now, and I don't think he's that great. Perhaps Di Canio was saving a bit of cash for this reason?

He'll use Thompson as cover for both full-back positions, i'd imagine

Returning home for 'family reasons'

So this one really is mutual consent rather than "you're going, so here's a wad of cash to see you off"?

Not saying he didn't get a payoff, more that he was actually happy about it.

Given the current situation, I wonder if this means cover at fullback is coming in to cover both sides?

How odd to have a controvosy free departure ... Someone make somthing up please ...

Good luck Cibo.  Did ok for us at times and at the time was stupidly comical, but always gave his all and when asked never let himself, the club or the fans down.

“The fans used to sing ‘dance with Cibocchi’ but I cannot do that anymore! I have enjoyed my time with Swindon Town and wish them success this season.”

I kind of wish we'd kept Kennedy, although that may be rose tinted spectacles a bit. Part of our success last season, particularly early on, was the number of brilliant crosses our full-backs whipped into the box on a regular basis. I remember when we played Huddersfield the commentators mentioned it and it really told. Cibo and Kennedy were both great at that, Jay Mac is not.
Cibo's finest moment in my mind was the game against Leicester, even though we lost. Nice bloke who had time for fans in a way some players don't, best of luck to him.

Wild conjecture as to who could be coming in anyone? I do think someone who can cover both left and right back is likely, especially with other goings on at the club. Didn't one of our centrebacks play at leftback last season to let Nathan Thompson play? Or am I making things up?

We should resign Antione Van Der Linden.  He could do a job up front too as he is technically excellent because he is dutch!

Gary Rose just tweeted Sam Morshead that Ridehalgh is available. Would be more than happy to take him back!
