Go to the Delirium Cafe. 3 floors and over 2000 beers.

Brussels is fantastic if you enjoy good beers, its a bit pricey but every bar pretty much serves around 50+ beers with some serving 100+, my fave is Gordons Highland Scotch Ale....sounds like its Scottish but its very Belgian and 8.5% lovely.

Is it true or a myth that Belgian beers are made with such good, unadulterated ingredients that hangovers are negligible?

Definitely. If they realise you are serious drinkers you may get the odd bonus beer, we did!

I know it to be true enough of proper German beers, because they don't use chemicals and I've spent a stag do in Berlin drinking only German beer. The Belgians do use chemicals, so I highly doubt that's the case. (Have you ever not had a hangover on Stella?)

The real Belgian beers do not use any additives...Stella is for the masses and is almost entirely exported, I did not find one pub in Brussels that served it when I was over there. I can honestly say I have never had a hangover from Belgian beer and I drink a fair bit when I can afford it. The masses over there drink Jupiler beer, its like a slightly weaker version of Stella in flavour and can be bought from vending machines on railway stations and street corners everywhere for not muc more than a can of coke. But why drink that when you can have a real beer from any pub/bar there....of which there are loads in every town and city.

I generally find that the quality of beer/lager in any bar in Europe is miles better than the piss that is served over here. The one that never fails to fuck me up as far as a man sized hangover goes is Portugese Super Bock Classic Lager. Another one that also makes me feel like shit the following day is Austrian Kaiser Beer.
There is something infantile and incredibly funny about ordered Kaiser beer in a Tryrolean bar whilst fucked out of your tree. And Whilst I can still put the same quantity away as I could 20 years ago It takes me about three days to get over a decent session. And I always throw up the following morning, never whilst out on the piss.

Stiegl is a lovely lager from Austria. The draught beer over there used to have me in pieces after 4 pints and I'm no lightweight
