Does Austin and Collymoore count? Both had been at big clubs before eventually getting picked up again.(Reading and Wolves)

I think Collymore would qualify becuase he was an apprentice at Walsall before he joined Wolves but I know what you mean, can you count failed footballer that have left bigger clubs before making it big.

When the Town were in Division 4 (1983) we sold Paul Rideout to Aston Villa.

He had a choice of Villa or Liverpool and turned down a move to Anfield.

Les Ferdinand started at Hayes and Nathan Ellington at Walton and Hersham FC.

Goalkeeper Nigel Martyn started off in the Cornish non leagues, before joining Rovers and then moving to Palace.

You're right. It came to me that i'd got it wrong when they were on about Keane on the radio today.

Think we got Colin Gordon from non league and sold him to Wimbledon for biggish bucks.

Think he is a top players agent now.
