Anyone has any experience with these type of companies in swindon?
The missus starts a new job next week and is getting a company car so rather than try and sell her current one which some the end of june will have not tax or MOT, we are just gonna get one of these companies to take it away and get what cash we can for it.
Its a 52 plate clio with close to 150k miles, it drives like a dog and it will not pass its MOT so we are cutting our losses.
Any idea which one will give the best price? Not expecting much but a few hundred would be nice.

You're better off trying to flog it in the local rag than using WBAC etc.

A lot of scappies will pay well over a ton for crap runners, my friend in Swindon got £230 for a 51 plate Focus that wouldnt start with a poor condition body.

they tend to quote you an online price and when you get there will tell you they have to lower the ammount they will pay due to some minor thing that wasn't mentioned (anything from a car park ding, scratch etc) and sometimes offer hardly anything at all after that. my advice is sell privately, if it's not worth the effort and your looking for a quick sell, some scrappy's will pay £100 minimum and pick the car up for you.

I forget the name of the company we used, but they quoted £180 and paid £180 for a knackered Citreon Xsara 01. I'll update if I remember who it is, but they bear the local srappy by £30.

I'd been quoted £250 on WBAC, so just put it on e-bay stating everything possible that was not perfect and got £750.

It's definitely worth trying.

might whack it on ebay then for 3 day auction, just dont want it taking up space on the street.

I intended to get rid of my car through webuyanycar and took it in for the proper valuation. The guy who checked it out offered me another £100 on top of what WBAC quoted to take it off me privately.

I ended up selling it for far less than I could have got privately for the same reason, I didn't have the time to look around or sell privately through ebay and the likes.

I used WBAC and they were pretty decent tbf. The price they quote you online won't be the amount you'll get as they scrutinize it when you get there but I got a decent return for a knackered ford focus!
