When I saw SM at MK they were supported by:

In Tua Nua - Very good
The Waterboys - Fucking superb
The Bangles - Shit.  Went down like the peverbial lead balloon
The Cult - Fucking superb

At Cardiff they were supported by:

Texas - Charlene Thingy was on the rag  - enough said
Can't remember the other support acts.

I'm normally prety good at remembering support groups, but I couldn't have told you a single one from MK in 86. And I'm gutted I can't remember the Cult playing, "Electric" is one of my favourite albums.

The worrying thing is I was there both days.

Oh dear :?

Nothing wrong with that, sisters weren't keen on doing boys stuff, and I was the youngest.

I was meaning 'Oh dear' to all this eightiesness.

Saw them at the MK Bowl in 86 and was blown away.

All of my mates went to that one. I had to stay behind for some reason. I think it was because I was chasing their sisters while they were at the concert...

Ok, it was a bit late at night to spot that!

Nothing wrong with nostalgia and 80's, well some of it anyway. It reminds me of when I was in my peak (I think). Cool

You must have been seriously pissed/stoned/both to not remember The Cult. They kicked some serious bottom.

Even more worrying I don't think It was that either, I know I was definately there though. Could just be my memory which isn't what it used to be.

The Cult were the essence of the eighties for me. I drove a beat up Transit van to Greece and back with two mates listening to Sanctuary non-stop in either direction.

The eighties were great if you picked your music carefully..?

They were very, very good.  They played most the track from Electric.  I think a  fair number of people had gone to see The Cult specifically which created a superb atmosphere.

There was some real bad stuff in the eighties (Wham etc) but there was a lot of decent stuff around as well.

Say 80's to most people and you get Wham, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Culture Club etc, that's all they remember it for musically.

The eighties was sticking lolly sticks in the spokes of your bike, playing on building sites, and Grange hill.

Agree with you there, lived through the 70's but was 12 in 1980 so that was the best decade. Also when Lou Macari took over and the good days came back, well from 84-85 onwards anyway.

No...that was last week for me

 Wink

But perhaps that's what "growing up" and having children does for you
