I imaging Löw will go with Gomez. But given Kloses' recorded at tournaments I would go with him

I was thinking Klose as well but will be hacked off if he doesn't get much game time!!

Ronaldo would be a decent bet. Portugal have a difficult group, but he's different gravy

Good point about the Russians, does Pav play up front for them?

Him or Pogrebnyak.

Yeah I personally don't think Portugal are going to get out of that group. Think Ronnie might get hacked off playing with inferior players and try too hard to do it all himself, Ronaldo won't be in my 5, but thanks for the suggestion.

So Ruddy has pulled out of the squad to be replaced by Butland... who played in our league this year! Strange how he was deemed top 4 'keeper material, as I would assume Wes was nowhere near despite playing more games and keeping more clean sheets for the L2 champions.

24 League Two games and progression through the England Youth set-up has earned him a decent summer of experience. A very luck chap but fair play to him.

Personally, I'd have a player like Fraser Forster in reserve but there's really no point debating over who gets the No.23 jersey.

I'm not taking issue (although my post may look like that!) just wanted to raise awareness for those who rely on the TEF for their news.

Makes you wonder.... does Butland represent England giving youth a chance or just a severe lack of quality English keepers?

Jack Butland has superb potential so I would lean towards the former within your point.

Many national teams give their 3rd choice jersey to either up-and-coming goalkeepers or veterans who can also act as coaches.

Butland has to build in this though. Problem for him is that Birmingham didn't get promoted so I'm sure they would be reluctant to send him on loan to anyone within their level. Unless they are willing to allow him to compete for a starting place at St. Andrews.

But Mr Campbell had this advice for fans thinking of travelling to Euro 2012: "Stay at home, watch it on TV. Don't even risk it… because you could end up coming back in a coffin."

It does raise the question why Uefa awarded Poland and Ukraine the tournament.

I fully agree with the argument that it wasn't as bad as it once was but they are still considerably behind other countries in dealing with racism/ holliganism. More of a social thing I expect.
