I'm sure he'll moan about the ban, but it could have been worse given he "didn't lose his head"..

12 matches is way OTT in my view. Handbags and nothing else. Big fucking pansies the lot of them.

He'll be coming on trial with us after his ban.

Think he got off lightly, it was 4 for the red card, 4 for the kick (he didn't contest either of these two) and 4 for the head butt. It would have been another 3 if they'd added the extra game for each additional red card (as they would normally do) and even more if they'd taken his post game comments in to account.

He'll be PDC's first signing when we're back in the second tier. I'd love that Joey Barton in a Town shirt.

That's the best part of a third of a season for him. There is no way his pathetic little strop deserves that.

For people with a better memory than me, how many games did Cantona get banned for his kick? Petty sure it was 9 months but that included the close season too.

How many did the darling of the media Alan Shearer get for kicking Neil Lennon in the face back in '98?

1998 was fourteen years ago under different suits.

I doubt it would have been anywhere near as severe as Joey Barton but I think the Shearer example is too old to compare.

Ha like it. Maybe he could get some of those games knocked off if he could prove one or more of those he kicked was a racist?

I doubt it would have been anywhere near as severe as Joey Barton but I think the Shearer example is too old to compare.

1970's Charity shield fight between Keegan and Bremner resulted in 3 match ban for KK and 8 match ban for Bremner, and that was a proper fight, shirts off and all!

Interestingly the FA at the time made an example of Bremner as it was the first Charity Shield televised so their fight was seen by millions.

And as for no comparison, bollocks. A player the media hates = 12 match ban. A player the media were infatuated with got no ban at all.  Double standards, whether it was 14 years ago or not. It's still the Premier League period.

(edited as original post missed first paragraph).
