If they do go bust it will mean only 23 teams on League One next season and at least a year without football for Portsmouth, guess if they then reform they'll be let straight in to the Conference.
I wonder if it does happen if Rangers will try to buy them and take their place in League One?
Surely that idea is utter bollocks. They would have to - in effect - relocate Portsmouth FC to Glasgow to take their place. That loophole was closed after Wimbledon/Plastics ...

Maybe. But if the alternative was liquidation for Portsmouth, would it really make any difference?
Same thing happened before in Scotland back in 2002. Airdrie went bust, the newco then bought Clydebank, kept their place in the league and passed all the other assets on to the Clydebank newco who reformed the following season in the lower leagues.

The majority of those "big earners" were signed after they went into admin the first time. Whoever sanctioned the "second" spending policy should be taking a bullet.
I believe the 'person' who let them sign players on those high salaries was a certain Andrew Andronikou, as they were still in admin when they definately signed Kitson. There is a big cue to fire that bullet at him though...

The question should be asked why was there no relegation clauses put in the players contracts.
Anyone with half a brain should puts that in the contracts these days.

How does he get away with it? Surely he must shoulder some of the responsibility for approving the cva that has lead to this?

He doesn't give a shit. Don't forget he and the company he works for thought it was routine for them to be appointed the second time as the administrator of the club...that was before he had his character assassinated in court, with the local council, MP's and fans making sure that he was never re-appointed, telling the court how useless he was. Due to the fact he never did anything 'illegal' he'll probably get away with it, though he recently got fined by his governing body. Regarding signing players on big money, he used the fact that they had the 'parachute payment' money to cover it, and he had the backing of Chainrai.

Let's hope the Supporters Trust can come to an arrangment with the players for outstanding wages which would allow them to talk over and get it stable, you do fear of Chainrai takes over again thye may end up in the some position again in 12 months time
