Just watched the footage on youtube, it took about 2 mins for the whole stand to go up, it was a good job there wasn't any fences up. what year did that happen?
I remember it so well like it was just a couple of years ago not nearly 30. The bravery of some of those people going in to save others like that one copper was fucking immense, long may their bravery be remembered and may it never ever happen again. One of the worst days in football.

I remember watching it live on TV. That poor bloke who walked on the pitch with his back on fire will haunt me forever.

I guess he thinks he won't cut it at league one.
I can see him leaving in the summer. This is based on nothing more than speculation but if we're predicting scores and things I'll add that into the mix of predictions.

One stray lit match or cigarette dropped in an old wooden stand.

I too think Connell will go....... which could be a catalyst for a spectacular TEF pre-season meltdown.

How do they find out what caused the fire? Surely there would be no evidence after that fire...

It's terrifying how fast it went up, and that video makes harrowing viewing. Shows how far things have come in terms of stadium safety.

It wouldn't be pre-season without a massive meltdown, or twenty, where everything eventually descends into debating the world's imminent demise. Exciting times ahead!

Ironically that stand was due to be demolished after the game anyway, to make way for a newer safer one.
