Why? Just to show the FA how Wembley should have been done?

It would look very impressive if done the right way, which given its listing it would have to be.

Hope it gets shot down, although no one seems to know what to do with it, for my money one of londons most iconic buildings. I look at it everytime i get the train into vic, makes my morning. Be right shit if chelsea stuck some concrete stands on it.

I fail to see how you can turn a power station into a football stadium.

Logistics wise it's fucking huge, easily take a football pitch and stands. It's just wrong though.

Although I like the idea I really can't see it happening. There's been plan after plan for the power station and everything seems to hit a stumbling block. More of a pipe dream imho.

Something badly needs to be done with that site - and this is as good an idea as I've seen.  There have been 'plans' out there for more than 20 years, so it's getting to the point where you wonder whether anyone will ever do anything there, rather than just talking about it.  It's London's very own Mechanics Institute.

If this does get the go ahead, I hope they will then extend the current, poxy plans for the Northern line extension all the way through to Clapham Junction...rather than the half arsed effort on the drawing board at the moment that stops in Battersea.  For one, they will need an extension through to CJ to handle all those Chelsea fans arriving at games from Hampshire and Surrey.
