Boss forgives players after apology

PAOLO Di Canio has forgiven five of his players for their late-night drinking session on Saturday after they apologised and insisted they would never let him down again.

Great news

"“I received an apology from every single player who did not behave completely professionally, and this doesn’t mean I push them out straight away,” he said."

Think the manager overeacted and dropping players was as bad an error than the one the players made. That said, he is the boss and they know by now what he is like so should tow the line(or not get caught)its time to draw a line and move on.

It's weird why Flint go singled out when he allegedly hasn't done anything wrong?

I reckon Paolo thought he was one of them and then found out later he wasn't, hence the misunderstanding in Flint's tweet.

I don't think you can (or should) push something like this on someone who has just lost their mother but, in more normal circumstances, an apology from PDC to Aden Flint would not have gone amiss either.  Flint's conduct has been exemplary in the face of the innuendo and criticism he has faced this week.

Anyway, I'm irritated that the sorry saga might well have affected the result on Tuesday and that it has therefore robbed me, possibly, of a chance to see us go up - but glad it's behind us now.  Now for promotion.

So Flint wasn't 'blurry' after all then.
I hope he doesn't hold a grudge with Paolo now.

I'm going to start using the word 'blurry' more often.  It's a good word.

I'm sure Paolo is man enough to admit his mistake. Flint would be stupid to hold it against him anyway.

Flint was having a long chat with Connell during the warm up.

Does PDC usually watch them warm up, like he did at Aldershot? Or was he just keeping an eye on them!

Did he play any worse than anyone else? Ok he was at fault for the 2nd goal but he's hardly the first defender in league 2 to make a mistake is he?
